Senior Associate Director (Investment)

The Hong Kong Investment Corporation Limited (“HKIC”) is dedicated to contributing to the future development of Hong Kong by identifying investment opportunities and strategically promoting the development of target industries, so as to enhance the long-term competitiveness and economic vitality of Hong Kong while generating investment return. It is wholly owned by the HKSAR Government, and consolidates the management of the investment activities of the Hong Kong Growth Portfolio, Greater Bay Area Investment Fund, Strategic Tech Fund, and the Co-Investment Fund. Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out end-to-end investment activities, including deal sourcing, due diligence and evaluation, financial analysis, investment structuring and execution, exit and other investment related activities
  • Lead post-investment performance monitoring, portfolio reviews and follow-up actions
  • Support management by contributing inputs on investment strategy, portfolio construction and conducting market, economic and financial research for investment landscape analysis and benchmarking
  • Develop and maintain constructive relationships with external stakeholders, partners and other counterparts
  • Perform other assigned duties as required

Requirements

  • University degree with good academic results in business, finance, accounting, economics, law or related fields
  • At least 8 years of relevant investment experience preferably in private equity, venture capital or institutional investment management. Experience working within reputable institutional investors, sovereign funds or public sector investment platforms is a plus
  • Good understanding of the Basic Law of the HKSAR
  • Committed to contributing to the future development of Hong Kong and achieving the HKIC’s objectives
  • Strong sense of integrity and professional ethics
  • Strong knowledge of private market investments, including buyout, early-stage, growth equity, credit, real assets and thematic investing (e.g. healthcare and technology) is a must
  • Experienced across different investment structures, including direct investment with advanced financial modeling, valuation and transaction structuring capabilities
  • Attention to detail, excellent analytical, strategic thinking, creativity and problem-solving skills
  • Resilient and able to manage multiple complex workstreams
  • Good team player, willing to take on new challenges and share ideas
  • Willing to work outside normal office hours as and when required
  • Good command of English and Putonghua
  • Good computer literacy, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing

 

(Candidates with less experience may be considered for an offer of appointment at Associate Director level.)

Remuneration Package

A competitive remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidates, taking into account the relevant depth and breadth of experience and qualifications. Fringe benefits include medical and dental benefits and paid annual leave.
